Epi Duran-Patient Care Assistant Multifil (DOH/NMBHI #13235+)

About the role

This position provides direct patient care during substance abuse withdrawal management, provides structure and support during rehabilitation services, and assists with discharge planning. The role works in close proximity to Patient Care Assistants to ensure all client and program needs are met daily, conducts early recovery skills groups, and guides clients through structured recreational activities.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the admission process including obtaining vitals, property search, inventory, documentation, case management, and discharge planning

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma and one (1) year of experience as it pertains to the essential duties of the classification
• Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling one (1) year may substitute for the required experience

Employment Requirements

• Possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver’s License
• Obtain a Defensive Driving Certificate
• Safety sensitive position subject to pre-employment and random alcohol and/or drug testing per federal and state law
• Employment is conditional pending the results of a nationwide criminal background check
• Successfully complete the Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act (HIPAA) requirements

Work Environment

Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminals (VDTs), extensive personal computer use, and phone usage.
