The New Mexico Behavioral Health Institute Residential treatment program will provide inpatient services for individuals that struggle with substance abuse and mental health disorders. Our program will offer Inpatient Detox services for clients seeking residential treatment. Our team will offer anti-craving medication assistance options and will encourage Medication-Assisted Treatment (MOUD) during treatment and post-discharge.

Why Does the Job Exist?

This position will rotate job duties between admissions, detox, residential group therapy, and structured recreational activities. This position will work individually with clients to establish follow up appointments and aftercare plans prior to program discharge. This position will be integral to each client's continued participation in the program by establishing rapport and client trust.

How Does It Get Done?

  • Must be able to obtain a basic set of vitals
  • Must be willing to learn about chemical dependency and how to recognize and score withdrawal symptoms appropriately
  • Must be able to manage emotions and personal responses even when conditions are unfavorable
  • Must be willing to communicate with the team and management to ensure all daily goals and objectives are met
  • Must be punctual, professional and present (emotionally, and mentally) for each shift

Who Are the Customers?

Our purpose for establishing this program is to serve individuals that struggle with substance abuse near San Miguel, Mora, and Guadalupe Counties. All residents and visitors of NM are welcome to inquire for substance abuse treatment.

Minimum Qualification

A High School Diploma or equivalent.

Employment Requirements

  • Must have a valid Drivers License.

Working Conditions

  • Work in an office setting with exposure to Visual Video Display Terminal, personal computer, Microsoft Teams, Email, and phone usage.
  • The work is in an adult residential treatment center with detox patients and residential clients that struggle with mental health illness and could present with unpredictable behavior.
  • SUN, MON, TUE & every other WED; 1800-0600
