Why Does the Job Exist?
This RN position will provide direct patient care during substance abuse withdrawal management. This position will work in close proximity to the Nurse Practitioner and the Patient Care Assistants to ensure all needs of the clients and program are met daily. The RN position helps keep the pace for the team and ensures the daily schedule is adhered to. The RN is the point of contact for the leadership team to address crisis, behaviors, emergencies, etc.
How Does It Get Done?
The RN position will be responsible for the admission process including; Nursing Assessments & Documentation, Vitals, Withdrawal Assessments, Blood Glucose Testing, Breathalyzer Testing, Blood Draws, Treatment Plan Documentation, Discharge Plan Documentation, De-escalation, Quality Control Testing & Documentation, effective communication.

Through the vision of NMDOH and NMBHI, we will standardize our program alongside other state substance abuse programs in effort to open our doors to all New Mexicans that struggle with substance abuse.
Minimum Qualification
- Must possess a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in New Mexico, or eligibility for such licensure in accordance with New Mexico requirements, or eligibility for a temporary license issued for employment at a specific institution in New Mexico, or a Graduate Nurse with a "permit-to-practice".
Employment Requirements
- Must possess and maintain a valid Drivers License
- Must obtain a Defensive Driving Certificate

This position ls designated as safely sensitive. Employment Is subject to pre-employment and random testing. In accordance with all terms and conditions of federal and state law, rules, and regulations in relation to alcohol and/or drug testing.
