Environmental Services / Custodial Manager 1

Sodexo is seeking an Environmental Services/Custodial Manager to oversee operations at St. Bernard Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. This position operates on 3rd shift (11:00 PM – 7:30 AM) with flexibility to work alternate shifts as needed. A sign-on bonus is offered.

About the Role

In this hands-on leadership role, you’ll oversee frontline environmental services teams to ensure high standards of cleanliness, safety, and efficiency. You’ll play a key part in scheduling, training, and supporting daily operations, helping create a safe and welcoming environment for all. Accountable for managing people, setting direction, and deploying resources, including performance evaluations, pay reviews, and hire/fire decisions. Results are primarily achieved through the work of others and depend on your ability to influence and negotiate across the organization. Progression reflects acquisition of broad technical expertise, business knowledge, and leadership capabilities. You may also manage dotted-line or matrixed teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise environmental services or custodial teams in a fast-paced setting.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulatory standards in facilities operations.
• Coordinate scheduling, training, and daily operational support.
• Multitask effectively to meet deadlines and support operational goals.
• Maintain clear and confident communication with a sharp eye for detail.
• Apply technical proficiency in custodial tools, processes, and systems to support daily operations.
• Contribute to budget processes and operational planning.

Requirements

• High School diploma/GED or associate’s degree, or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience leading or supervising environmental services or custodial teams.

Pay

Annual salary range: $53,720 – $69,520.
