We are a growing industry leader supplying innovative technology around the globe. We truly value our team members and clients as we take pride in everything we build. We are currently seeking an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager to join our growing team in Stamford.

About the role

As a key member of the team, you will drive Safety, Compliance, and Process improvement throughout the facility. This role offers a salary of $100,000 - $140,000 per year depending on experience, plus a 15% bonus, excellent benefits, and significant room for growth.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for compliance with all applicable regulatory, plant, and corporate EHS and related policies and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain safety systems, policies, and procedures for the Stamford site.
  • Support Emergency Response functions, roles, and responsibilities in accordance with the site emergency response plan (PSM – start-up, shut-down procedures, etc.).
  • Collaborate with other functional departments to enhance employee engagement and reduce at-risk behaviors.
  • Manage engagement to improve KPIs related to safety improvement.
  • Perform risk assessments on operations and work with employees on risk reduction.
  • Lead Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations on near-misses and action items arising from Job Safety Observations (JSOs).
  • Maintain all required EHS documentation internally and externally, ensuring timely reporting.
  • Ensure equipment and facilities are installed and maintained in compliance with all applicable regulatory, site, and corporate requirements.
  • Oversee site project activity to ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory, site, and corporate requirements.
  • Ensure all EHS reporting is completed timely and accurately, including required government, agency, and other reporting.
  • Ensure programs exist and are followed for all necessary employee monitoring and testing (e.g., Industrial Hygiene – hearing tests, air sampling).
  • Collaborate with Operations Management to define goals, objectives, and projects related to yield improvement, labor optimization, conversion cost reduction, product quality, and compliance.
  • Manage projects related to EHS and Compliance for improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Health, Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Three (3) years of experience in the EHS field.
  • Ability to understand related compliance regulations and how they apply to the facility.
  • Knowledge of Title V and Water treatment systems.
  • Knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM).
  • Ability to lead RCCAs.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as EHS standards, operating manuals, maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and government regulations.
  • Ability to write operational and project reports, correspondence, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels in the organization, including internal and external associates (e.g., project presentations in group settings).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook).

Pay

$100,000 - $140,000 per year depending on experience, plus a 15% bonus.
