Environmental Health and Safety Manager

About the role

Serve as a key member of the team driving safety, environmental compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives across the facility.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, local, plant, and corporate EHS policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Develop, implement, and maintain EHS programs, policies, and procedures.
• Support emergency response planning and Process Safety Management (PSM) activities, including startup and shutdown procedures.
• Partner with operations, maintenance, and leadership teams to improve employee engagement and reduce workplace risk.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement corrective actions to improve workplace safety.
• Lead incident investigations, near miss reviews, and Root Cause Corrective Actions (RCCA).
• Maintain required EHS documentation and ensure all internal and external reporting is completed accurately and on time.
• Ensure equipment, facilities, and capital projects comply with applicable environmental, health, safety, and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee environmental compliance activities including air permits, wastewater treatment, employee monitoring, and industrial hygiene programs.
• Track and report key EHS metrics while identifying opportunities for improvement.
• Manage EHS and compliance related projects that support operational excellence and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with operations leadership to support productivity, quality, cost reduction, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of EHS experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Working knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM), Title V air permitting, and wastewater treatment systems.
• Experience leading incident investigations and Root Cause Corrective Actions (RCCA).
• Strong understanding of environmental and safety regulations and their application in a manufacturing setting.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

Pay

$130,000 - $180,000 per year depending on experience.
