About the role
Serve as a key member of the team driving safety, environmental compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives across the facility.
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, local, plant, and corporate EHS policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Develop, implement, and maintain EHS programs, policies, and procedures.
- Support emergency response planning and Process Safety Management (PSM) activities, including startup and shutdown procedures.
- Partner with operations, maintenance, and leadership teams to improve employee engagement and reduce workplace risk.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement corrective actions to improve workplace safety.
- Lead incident investigations, near miss reviews, and Root Cause Corrective Actions (RCCA).
- Maintain required EHS documentation and ensure all internal and external reporting is completed accurately and on time.
- Ensure equipment, facilities, and capital projects comply with applicable environmental, health, safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee environmental compliance activities including air permits, wastewater treatment, employee monitoring, and industrial hygiene programs.
- Track and report key EHS metrics while identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Manage EHS and compliance related projects that support operational excellence and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with operations leadership to support productivity, quality, cost reduction, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of EHS experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Working knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM), Title V air permitting, and wastewater treatment systems.
- Experience leading incident investigations and Root Cause Corrective Actions (RCCA).
- Strong understanding of environmental and safety regulations and their application in a manufacturing setting.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Pay
$130,000 - $180,000 per year depending on experience.
