Job Title: Environmental Health & Safety Manager Industry: Manufacturing Location (city, state): Wood Dale, IL Assignment Type: Direct Hire Pay: $85 - $95K based on experience plus bonus Work Schedule: Full-Time | Onsite Benefits: This position is eligible for medical, dental, vision, and 401(k). About The Company: Addison Group is partnering with a global manufacturing organization to identify an experienced Environmental Health & Safety professional. This individual will play a key role in promoting a strong safety culture, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving continuous improvement across site operations. Job Description: The Environmental Health & Safety Manager will provide hands-on leadership for workplace safety, environmental compliance, and process safety initiatives. This role requires a visible presence throughout the facility, the ability to identify potential risks and compliance gaps, and the leadership skills necessary to implement effective solutions. The ideal candidate is passionate about creating a safe work environment, proactive in identifying opportunities for improvement, and comfortable partnering with employees and leadership at all levels of the organization. Key Responsibilities: Promote a strong culture of health and safety responsibility throughout the organization.Partner with leadership to reinforce safe work practices and encourage accountability at all levels.Build strong working relationships with employees, managers, and cross-functional stakeholders.Oversee process safety programs, including applicable management systems, compliance requirements, and certifications.Maintain an active presence on the manufacturing floor and address unsafe behaviors or conditions promptly.Conduct risk assessments to identify hazards, evaluate potential exposure, and prioritize improvement opportunities.Provide leadership with recommendations regarding risk levels, priorities, and mitigation strategies.Share best practices, lessons learned, and safety knowledge across teams and locations.Provide technical input on facility projects, engineering standards, and implementation of industry best practices.Serve as a point of contact with applicable labor, health, environmental, and regulatory agencies as needed.Manage and monitor the Environmental Health & Safety budget. Qualifications: Minimum 5 years of hands-on Environmental Health & Safety experience within a manufacturing or plant environment.Experience conducting routine safety inspections, identifying compliance gaps, and implementing corrective actions.Strong knowledge of workplace safety practices, PPE requirements, hazard identification, and regulatory compliance.Previous experience supporting multiple manufacturing sites is preferred.Demonstrated ability to investigate incidents, identify root causes, and develop effective solutions.Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills with ability to influence employees and leadership.Bachelor's degree preferred.Environmental Health & Safety certifications are a plus.Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.Able to travel to other sites within US.
