About the role
Fleet Services by Cox Fleet, a national leader in mobile on-site fleet maintenance, is offering open enrollment into our next FleeTec Academy class. FleeTec Academy is a paid educational program that leads to a path of becoming one of our full-time Trailer Technicians. The program is designed to help individuals enter the Trailer Maintenance field without the burden of tuition debt or the need to purchase tools upfront.
Upon completion of the initial 4-week classroom phase, you will be paired with a Lead Technician in your market for further hands-on training and offered a full-time job as a Mobile Trailer Mechanic. Our Mobile Technicians perform preventative maintenance and general repairs at customer locations, ensuring their vehicles run efficiently without needing to visit a shop.
Program Details
- 4 weeks of paid classroom training at our Academy Campus, with all travel expenses, hotel accommodations, a meal stipend, and a paycheck provided.
- Free technical education on the fundamentals of trailer repair.
- Hands-on training with a Lead Technician in your market.
- A full-time job offer as a Mobile Trailer Mechanic upon successful completion of the program.
- State-of-the-art vehicle provided for performing repairs at customer locations.
- Ongoing classroom study to further develop your skill set.
- Retention of the provided tools and toolbox after program completion.
Pay
- $13.08/hour (or state minimum wage, whichever is greater) + $250/week stipend (taxed) during initial training.
- $19/hour for the next 6 weeks of hands-on training.
- Second 4-week classroom phase at $19/hour + $250/week stipend (taxed).
- $21/hour upon graduation from the program.
Requirements
- Desire to start a career as a Trailer Technician and become a Mobile Mechanic.
- Willingness and ability to study hard and dedicate 4 weeks away from home for training.
- Maturity to focus on tasks and treat the program as the start of your career.
- Technical aptitude and passion for fixing vehicles.
- Ability to operate an iPad.
- Must be at least 21 years old due to interstate commerce regulations.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain a Driver Qualification File.
- Must pass a DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening and DOT physical (or provide a current DOT medical card with more than 4 months remaining).
- High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education is preferred but not required.
- Must pass pre-employment drug testing, background checks, and driving record checks.
