About the role

FleeTec Academy is a paid educational program that leads to a path of becoming one of our full-time Trailer Technicians. The program helps individuals enter the Trailer Maintenance field without the burden of tuition debt or the cost of tools. We pay you to go through our program, provide free education on the fundamentals of Trailer Repair, and supply a set of hand tools with a toolbox.

  • 4 weeks of paid classroom training with all travel expenses covered (hotel, meals stipend, and paycheck included).
  • Free technical education on trailer repair fundamentals.
  • Further hands-on training paired with a Lead Technician in your market, leading to a full-time job as a Mobile Trailer Mechanic.
  • Periodic classroom study to continue developing your skill set.
  • Upon successful completion of the multi-year program, you will become a certified Trailer Technician and keep the tools provided.

Our Mobile Technicians are assigned a state-of-the-art vehicle to perform preventative maintenance and general repairs at our customers' locations, ensuring their vehicles run efficiently without needing shop visits.

Requirements

  • Desire to start a career as a Trailer Technician and become a Mobile Mechanic.
  • Willingness and ability to study hard and dedicate 4 weeks away from home for training.

  • Technical aptitude and passion for fixing vehicles.
  • Ability to operate an iPad.
  • Must be at least 21 years old due to interstate commerce regulations.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain a Driver Qualification File.
  • Must pass a DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening, DOT physical, drug test, and driving record check.
  • A current and valid DOT medical card with more than four (4) months remaining may be submitted in lieu of a DOT physical.

  • $19/hour + $250/week stipend (taxed) during the second 4-week classroom phase in Indianapolis.
  • $21/hour upon graduation.
  • Hourly pay range: $13.70 - $20.53/hour, depending on location, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Position may be eligible for additional compensation, such as commission or incentive programs.

Benefits
