About the role

Cox Fleet is offering a unique opportunity through the FleeTec Academy, a paid educational program designed to train individuals to become full-time Trailer Technicians. This program provides free technical education, hands-on training, and a pathway to a career as a Mobile Trailer Mechanic.

Upon completion of the 4-week paid classroom training (with travel expenses covered), you will be paired with a Lead Technician for further hands-on training and offered a full-time job. Mobile Technicians perform preventative maintenance and general repairs at customers' locations using a state-of-the-art vehicle.

Pay

  • $13.08/hour (or state minimum wage, whichever is greater) + $250/week stipend (taxed) during initial training
  • $19/hour after the first 6 weeks
  • $19/hour + $250/week stipend (taxed) during the second 4-week classroom phase
  • $21/hour upon graduation

Schedule

  • 4 weeks of full-time classroom training at the Academy Campus (travel, hotel, and meal stipend provided)
  • Ongoing hands-on training with a Lead Technician in your market
  • Periodic return to classroom study for skill development

Responsibilities

  • Complete 4 weeks of intensive classroom training at FleeTec Academy
  • Undergo hands-on training with a Lead Technician in your market
  • Perform preventative maintenance and general repairs on trailers at customer locations
  • Maintain and operate a state-of-the-art mobile service vehicle
  • Adhere to DOT regulations and safety standards

Requirements

  • Desire to start a career as a Trailer Technician
  • Willingness and ability to study hard and dedicate 4 weeks away from home for training
  • Technical aptitude and passion for fixing vehicles
  • Ability to operate an iPad
  • Must be at least 21 years old due to interstate commerce regulations
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain a Driver Qualification File
  • Must pass DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening, drug test, and DOT physical
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred but not required
