Entry Level Mechanical Engineer
About the role
The Entry Level Mechanical Engineer at Salas O’Brien engages in all phases of a project from programming to construction document development to construction administration. This role aims to grow individuals and nurture design talents.
Responsibilities
- Communicate design recommendations to clients, project teams, construction contractors, and vendors through presentations, meetings, emails, and phone calls.
- Develop and sustain relationships with in-house teams and contractors while providing technical solutions through design and consulting services that address facility manager and/or owner's requirements.
- Participate in mechanical department standard development and maintenance.
- Assist other engineers and designers as a design engineer to generate project deliverables.
Requirements
- A minimum of a BS in Mechanical Engineering.
- Have taken or plan to take the Fundamentals of Engineering exam.
- Desires obtaining their Professional Engineering (PE) license.
Qualifications
- Experience working within a project team to efficiently produce project 3-D Revit models and construction documents of building mechanical systems.
- Ability to implement and utilize project-specific model and drawing standards.
- Excellent coordination skills with other project team members.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, able to find creative, innovative solutions to challenges.
- Exceptional listening, written, and verbal communication skills, and sensitivity to situations requiring effective communication and coordination with others.
- Ability to be delegated to and handle multiple tasks.
- Quickly adaptable to changes.
- A high standard of professionalism and customer service.
