About the role
Fleet Services by Cox Automotive is offering a unique educational program designed to help individuals enter the Diesel Maintenance field. The FleeTec Academy provides free technical education, hands-on training, and a full-time job as a Mobile Diesel Mechanic.
Responsibilities
- Full-time classroom training for four weeks at the Academy Campus
- Travel expenses and hotel accommodations paid
- Weekly stipend for meals
- Pairing with a Lead Technician for hands-on training
- Opportunity for further classroom study and eventual full-time job as a Mobile Diesel Mechanic
- Real pay rates starting at $13.72 per hour and increasing upon successful completion of the program
Requirements
- Desire to start a career as a Diesel Technician
- Willingness and ability to study hard
- Maturity level to focus on the task at hand
- Technical aptitude and passion for fixing vehicles
- Ability to operate an iPad
- Must be 21 to drive one of our trucks
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Qualifications
- Passing background checks
- Valid driver's license
- Pre-employment drug testing

Pay
- $13.72/hour (or state minimum wages, whichever is greater)
- $19/hour after the first six weeks
- $21/hour upon graduation
Schedule
The program consists of four weeks of full-time classroom training, followed by hands-on training with a Lead Technician, and eventually a full-time job as a Mobile Diesel Mechanic. Further classroom study may be required upon successful completion of the program.
