Kennebec Valley Community Action Program (KVCAP) seeks to strengthen individuals, families and communities through direct services and community collaborations that create solutions to poverty. The Child & Family Services department, a Head Start/Early Head Start provider, offers child care, preschool, home visiting and whole-family coaching in northern Kennebec and Somerset counties.

About the role

The Enrollment & Billing Coordinator will assist with financial components of assigned program initiatives, including scholarships and accounts-payable tasks. This role requires a highly organized, detail-oriented individual with strong financial knowledge and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Determine eligibility of applications and ensure completion of all required documentation.
  • Complete data entry of child and family information in ChildPlus, E-DECA, and Procare.
  • Scan all documents for the electronic child/family file.
  • Establish income-eligibility file and forward appropriately for review.
  • Provide enrollment support as assigned for HomeStart partners.
  • Manage verification of childcare subsidies for enrolled families.
  • Assist and support the C&FS Accounts Payable Specialist with petty-cash reconciliations and voucher preparations.
  • Provide coverage for the Hight Receptionist as assigned.
  • Follow accepted safety practices and never work in a way that compromises safety of self, clients, or co-workers.
  • Perform other reasonably related job duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3–4 years of administrative experience.
  • Accounting systems knowledge preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with all internal/external customers, with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Computer skills and aptitude, including Word and Excel.
  • Efficiency-oriented with the ability to meet deadlines and present information effectively.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and perform varied tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to pass State Bureau of Investigation, Department of Health and Human Services, Fraud, and National Sex Offender registry background checks.

Education

Associate’s degree or equivalent experience.

Pay

$22.23–$24.00 hourly.
