Enrollment Advisor, College of Arts and Sciences

About the role

The University of South Dakota College of Arts and Sciences seeks an Enrollment Advisor to help engage prospective students in the College’s majors and grow enrollment. The role is a key member of the Dean’s leadership team, based in Vermillion, SD, within the College of Arts & Sciences.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate campus visit events for the College of Arts & Sciences, including individual visits and class schedules, allowing prospective students to engage with programs and faculty.
• Collaborate with department chairs, faculty, and staff on recruitment processes and best practices.
• Manage the college’s recruitment funnel to ensure admitted students receive necessary attention and information reinforcing why the college is a great place to pursue educational goals.
• Work with regional high school teachers to design engagement strategies related to majors in the College of Arts & Sciences.
• Expand current communication plans for majors with growth potential.
• Manage a team of current students in various engagement activities.
• Partner with the Office of Admissions to ensure this position expands current strategies without duplicating processes.
• Limited travel required; willingness to attend off‑campus events as needed for enrollment growth.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship‑building skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with prospective students, families, educators, and campus stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience in higher education recruitment, admissions, enrollment management, or student affairs (preferred).

Schedule

Appointment: 100 % (full‑time). Duration: 12 months. Work hours: Monday‑Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (approximately 40 hours per week). Limited travel may be required.
