About the role

The Y Enrichment Specialist contributes to the Y's mission by leading children and teens in positive, fun, and enriching activities that support healthy youth development. This role involves preparing and submitting lesson plans tailored to individual student needs and program goals.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and submit lesson plans that meet the individual needs of students in grades K-12 in low-income communities.
  • Engage students in activities that promote healthy youth development.
  • Support and nurture youth adversely impacted by the achievement gap.
  • Work at multiple locations to accommodate diverse student populations.

Requirements

  • An interest in the well-being of school-age youth.
  • Enthusiasm, patience, and good humor.
  • Good judgment and a good spirit.
  • Prior experience leading school-age youth.
  • The ability to clearly communicate and effectively listen to children, parents/guardians, members, school administration, and other Y associates.
