About the role
The Engineering Technician - Mechanic supports TOS II at Tunnel 9 in White Oak, Maryland, working as part of an integrated team responsible for the operation and maintenance of the United States Air Force Test Operations and Sustainment efforts.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine and moderate complexity tasks under the close supervision or from detailed procedures
- Technical, mechanical, and electrical work to support safe operation and maintenance of various industrial machinery
- Inspect, troubleshoot, maintain, and operate various mechanical and test systems, such as gas and liquid pumps, compressors, high pressure tubing systems, valves, cylinders, etc.
- Begin training to become a qualified operator of various industrial control systems
- Accomplish maintenance and servicing work required to place and keep test facility equipment in operation
- Assemble and disassemble precision mechanical components in a lab environment as well as in the field
- Operate various hand and machine tools and become qualified to operate large equipment such as cranes and forklifts
- Maintain a safe workplace and ensure that safety is the highest priority
- Communicate effectively with coworkers
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent with 0-5 years of progressive and relevant experience or any equivalent combination of education and progressive and relevant experience
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance and the AEDC local area network
- Current U. S. Citizenship required

- Active Secret clearance
- Familiarity with safety regulations and procedures in a high-risk setting
