Engineering Systems Analyst I
About the role
The Engineering Systems Analyst (ESA) plays a crucial role in bridging engineering, design, manufacturing, and IT. They translate business requirements into technical solutions, build dashboards and queries, and support every phase of system implementations.
Responsibilities
- Gathers requirements through interviews, document analysis, surveys, and basic use case development under supervision
- Assists in evaluating information from multiple sources and distinguishing stated requests from underlying business needs
- Helps develop and maintain requirements specifications and business requirement documents using standard templates
- Serves as a junior liaison between engineering, design, and IT teams, participating in cross-functional workgroups
- Supports design of basic reports and dashboards aligned to business requirements

- Aids in documentation of functional and technical artifacts, use cases, and basic GUI/interface designs
- Supports configuration, testing, and continuous improvement of engineering platforms (Siemens NX, Siemens Teamcenter, Dassault Systèmes CATIA V5) under guidance
- Documents and maintains engineering system process flows, CAD/PLM data control records, configuration change logs, and design data management procedures
- Supports CAD/PLM implementation and upgrade activities, including requirements gathering, UAT support, and post-deployment stabilization
- Aids in CAD software license tracking and basic upgrade coordination
- Learns and applies automation scripts, macro routines, and system integrations (e.g., Kubatek, ECTR) through training and mentorship
- Supports enforcement of industry standards and data control practices in engineering design processes
- Aids in maintaining current training materials for PLM/CAD software and data control procedures
- Develops basic engineering data queries and reports using SQL, Power BI, or PLM-native reporting modules under direction
- Supports analysis of PLM/CAD data to identify trends, anomalies, and process improvement opportunities
- Supports documentation and status reporting of improvement implementation plans
- Manages multiple assigned tasks and deadlines with guidance from senior staff
- Maintains reliable, punctual attendance as a condition of employment
- Adheres to Janicki IS documentation standards and procedural controls
Qualifications
- Due to ITAR and EAR regulations, applicants must be a U.S. Citizen or Legal Permanent Resident as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)
- A bachelor’s degree or a combination of equivalent experience and education in a related field (Engineering, Drafting/Design Technology, Computer Science, or Information Technology) preferred
- Minimum requirement for all positions is a high school diploma or GED
- Basic understanding of engineering design processes, CAD/PLM systems, and product lifecycle management principles
- Proficiency in MS Office products such as Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Visio
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in the English language and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts
- Strong analytical and project management skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret engineering and design needs and translate them into PLM application and operational requirements
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to Siemens NX, Siemens Teamcenter, or Dassault Systèmes CATIA V5 through coursework, internships, or prior work experience
- Familiarity with basic SQL queries or experience with Power BI or similar reporting/dashboard tools
- Coursework or experience in business process analysis, requirements gathering, or systems documentation
- Understanding of engineering or manufacturing environments (aerospace, automotive, or related industries)

Wage Information
The wage range for this role is between $83,000 - $90,000, plus benefits and eligibility for a discretionary bonus.
Shift Availability
Hours: 8:00am - 4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday
