About the Role

A Boar’s Head Oracle Systems Analyst is a key analytical resource within the Enterprise Applications team, focused on identifying, defining, developing, and delivering innovative solutions aligned with organizational goals. This role improves process capabilities, functional and technical requirements, design, and deliverables while maintaining quality standards. The Systems Analyst is responsible for analyzing, designing, and developing requirements, functional specifications, and process artifacts to support development efforts for specific business units, with a focus on Oracle Enterprise Business Suite (EBS) functions and development technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a key analytical resource for the IT Manufacturing (MFG) or Distribution (DST) Oracle Development & Support Team(s), identifying and delivering innovative solutions aligned with team and organizational goals.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of business operations, identifying opportunities for operational efficiency through automation and effective use of Oracle SCM and other key tools for manufacturing and supply chain management.
  • Assist in technical delivery management and relationship management to assess potential solutions for both technical and business suitability.
  • Collaborate with IT and business resources to evaluate current states of people, processes, and technology, developing requirements, use cases, and user stories using standard templates.
  • Interpret customer business needs through interviews, workshops, document analysis, surveys, site visits, and workflow analysis.
  • Conduct decision analysis, evaluating options with pros and cons, and outline findings.
  • Critically evaluate information from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, and decompose high-level details into actionable insights for the development team.
  • Partner with knowledge management leads to maintain consistency in Standard Operating Procedures and formal Work Instructions for enterprise-wide applications (e.g., Oracle ERP, Oracle Business Intelligence, Oracle CRM, QMS, LIMS, MES).
  • Broker sign-off on functional requirements, process documentation, and use cases from business process owners and key stakeholders.
  • Support rollouts of new and expanding applications, processes, and projects.
  • Design and document current and future state process diagrams (using Visio or advanced modeling tools) to articulate cost-reduction options, efficiency improvements, and streamlined execution while maintaining quality standards.
  • Identify, document, and communicate current business processes, partnering with technical teams to recommend future state options.
  • Create process documentation, including interaction points with other systems and applications.
  • Perform needs analysis, create user stories and requirements, manage product backlogs, sign off as Product Owner, and support go-live business testing.
  • Define process improvements and data validation rules to enforce company data policies and procedures.
  • Translate analysis outcomes into application and operational requirements, functional specifications, and user interface requirements.
  • Plan, review, and revise configurations and customizations of business systems to meet evolving business needs.
  • Develop, test, and deploy customizations, custom objects, and new functionality based on business needs.
  • Develop use cases and user stories with quantifiable measures for successful outcomes.
  • Partner with QA teams for end-to-end systems testing and coordinate user acceptance testing strategy development and validation.
  • Provide ongoing training materials to ensure adoption and delivery of training in conjunction with departmental stakeholders.
  • Document requirements, functional specifications (e.g., MD50 templates), configurations, and personalizations (e.g., BR100).
  • Design solutions using core Oracle EBS functions, including personalizations and configurations within targeted modules (e.g., Order Management, Inventory Management, Warehouse Management, Process Manufacturing, Enterprise Asset Management, OPM, or Financials).
  • Assist Technical Delivery Managers in business strategy analysis, enhancement demand management, and refining project plans/objectives.
  • Assess project requirements and work with Project Managers and resource managers to estimate level of effort.
  • Ensure project success through team alignment toward project objectives and expected results.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation in accordance with best practices and project timelines.
  • Work independently with users to define concepts while collaborating with project managers to align with project strategy and priorities.
  • Partner with project managers to define change requests for missed requirements and scope changes, maintaining focus on project constraints (schedule, resources, scope/quality).
  • Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to produce clear recommendations, business requirements, and functional specifications.
  • Communicate technical concepts and issues to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Interact with all levels of the company with patience, courtesy, diplomacy, and professionalism.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, MIS, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with Oracle EBS/ERP, with emphasis on at least two of the following: Order Management, Inventory Management, Warehouse Management, Process Manufacturing, or Enterprise Asset Management.
  • Ability to articulate business and technology needs/constraints to both IT members and end users.
  • Experience reviewing or creating functional requirements documents and process design samples.
  • Software comprehension of Oracle E-Business Suite, including Oracle Process Management, Enterprise Asset Management, and Supply Chain Management.
  • Ability to write SQL queries and understand core tables of OPM, EAM, and WMS for troubleshooting production issues.
  • Knowledge of reporting and query tools and practices.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Visio, RavenFlow, and SmartDraw.
  • Strong oral, written, and listening communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, and coalition-building skills.

Schedule

  • Primarily a first-shift position, but adjustments to shift start/end times may be required depending on production support schedules.
  • Availability for on-call during non-business hours is required.
  • After-hours and weekend work is intermittently required for system troubleshooting, maintenance, and upgrades.
  • Travel required (up to 25%) as defined by Technical Delivery Manager or IT Director.
