About the role

The Systems Analyst I serves as an application specialist who uses basic knowledge, clinical, financial, or information technology experience to develop, establish, and maintain computer application solutions. Collaborates with customers, vendors, and other IT professionals to meet challenges in order to maximize efficiency and achieve quality outcomes. Uses understanding of system integration to ensure that other systems and modules will work in harmony with their supported applications. Successfully completes basic work assignments that are multi-disciplinary, multi-application oriented, and may require new and unique approaches with a varied group of people.

Responsibilities

  • Works closely with users to provide a stable and reliable system and maintain a high level of customer service.
  • Provides timely and courteous end user support.
  • Acts as the first level of support for the applications assigned.
  • Assists trainers in the development of training material related to supported applications.
  • Performs in-depth analysis, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis of system issues and uses critical thinking and resources to solve application issues.
  • Analyzes and tests new functionality in releases to determine application viability and integrity.
  • Provides regular maintenance to navigators, flow sheets, and all other application components.
  • Maintains appropriate system documentation and audits.
  • Provides on-site and phone support as necessary.
  • Adheres to change control process.
  • Communicates with customers, peers, and supervisors to provide status of current projects or problems.
  • Attends and engages in department meetings.
  • May require valid driver's license and insurance if role requires.
  • May require maintenance of inventory records pertaining to equipment location, repair and maintenance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
  • 2 years of experience in lieu of a diploma/GED.
  • Epic HB certification or ability to obtain the certification within six months of hire.

Qualifications

  • Healthcare or Business Intelligence Experience: Demonstrated experience working with healthcare data, business intelligence, reporting, or analytics.
  • Strong Business Partnership: Experience collaborating with operational leaders, clinicians, researchers, and business stakeholders to understand reporting needs and translate them into effective data solutions.
  • Technical Data Expertise: Skilled in data extraction, validation, troubleshooting, report optimization, dashboard development, and metadata maintenance.
  • Quality & Change Management: Experience participating in testing, quality assurance, implementation, and change management processes.
  • Collaboration & User Support: Contributes effectively to team initiatives, user education, knowledge sharing, and organizational projects.
  • Healthcare Operations Knowledge: Ability and willingness to learn and apply complex hospital policies, regulatory requirements, and revenue cycle workflows.
  • Epic Expertise: Ability to develop deep expertise in their assigned Epic build and confidently communicate that expertise to operational partners.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communicator who can explain complex technical concepts clearly and effectively to non-technical audiences.
