Engineering Intern

Responsibilities

• Author work instructions using drawings and specifications.
• Perform entry level manufacturing engineering assignments.
• Support manufacturing process analysis and design.
• Communicate analytic results through oral and written reports.
• Create formal reports based on study and analysis of plant assembly processes.
• Document plant assembly processes.
• Assist in addressing special projects as they arise.
• Contribute to continuous improvement efforts focusing on quality, line balance, safety, ergonomics, and overall efficiency.

Requirements

• Candidate must be currently enrolled in a regionally accredited college or university program leading to a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or another science or technology-related major.
• Must have completed the sophomore year of study by the start date of the internship.
• Good academic standing expected.
• Must be currently enrolled in an Engineering program.
• Excellent technical, verbal, written, and presentation skills required.
• Proven problem-solving skills are required.
• Knowledge of industrial tools, hand tools, and power tools is preferred.
• Able to work in a self-directed environment is preferred.
• Flexible to work portions of day and evening shifts.
• Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time.
• Strong proficiency in MS Office applications, specifically Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA or higher preferred.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of all Microsoft Software applications.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Self-starter with the ability to work with little direction.
• Solid academic track record of accomplishment.
