About the role

The Engineering Entry Program (EEP) Engineer will be entered into a full time 2-year engineering rotation where they will be exposed to a variety of engineering roles within defined areas of focus, developing long-term technical and leadership skills, as well as providing mentorship and skill-building activities.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, design, construction, and maintenance of Electric Distribution, Electric Generation, Gas Distribution and/or Gas Transmission systems as well as facilities and ancillary support process for all utility operations.
  • Lead and/or assist with engineering projects to include design, plans, inspections, system planning, specifications, reports, maps, environmental impacts, permits, contracts, schedules, estimates, surveying, easements, data collection, construction observation, and field investigation.
  • Produce reports, graphics, presentations, and other visual material to present to senior engineers and leadership, may also include occasional speaking or meeting with internal and external stakeholders to present reports.
  • Review operating and construction sites to monitor progress.
  • Use computer assisted engineering, design, and drafting software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents; understanding and following company established standard procedures for projects, including plans and specifications, maps, and related material for each project.

Requirements

Individual should exemplify safe work practices and follow the company’s compliance standards. Effective oral and written communication skills. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills are critical. Experience working with Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, including being able to create presentations and spreadsheet. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Aptitude to learn new skills and concepts and adapt quickly to new situations.

Qualifications

  • Engineering degree from an ABET accredited university.
  • OR Engineering degree from a non-ABET accredited university plus Professional Engineering license.
