Engineering Development Program
About the Role
The Polaris Engineering Development Program (EDP) is a two-year rotational program designed for recent engineering graduates. It provides a broad-based understanding of the product development cycle while offering in-depth exposure to customers and their needs. Participants will complete four six-month rotations across various engineering functions, gaining essential skills and accelerating career development for future positions of significant responsibility.
Upon successful completion, participants transition into a full-time Engineering position, with role placement guided by business needs, demonstrated strengths, program experiences, and career interests.
Program Details
- Program Length: 2 Years
- Rotation Length: 6 Months (4 rotations total)
- Potential Placement Locations: Roseau, MN; Wyoming, MN; Medina, MN; Huntsville, AL; Novi, MI; or San Angelo, TX
Areas of exposure during rotations include:

- Manufacturing or Operations
- Project/Product Engineering

Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Engineering or related field (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Software, Computer, Systems) with a graduation date between August 2026 and May 2027.
- Minimum overall GPA of 3.0.
- Must be able to commit to working 40 hours per week starting on January 12th, 2026, or June 15th, 2026.
- Must be a U.S. person (U.S. citizen, U.S. national, lawful permanent resident, asylee, or refugee) and not require sponsorship for employment now or in the future.
- Must be willing to travel and relocate between sites for rotations and be mobile beyond the program for career development.
- Must have reliable transportation for daily commuting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software: Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams, SharePoint.
- Active leadership experience in student organizations and/or work experiences.
- Demonstrated strengths in analysis, creative problem-solving, communication, interpersonal relationships, self-motivation, and leadership.
- Strong interest in long-term career development.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous internship or co-op experience.
- Experience using CAD or equivalent software (Creo highly desired).
- Hands-on engineering experience through prior internships or clubs (e.g., SAE, Clean Snow).

Pay
The starting pay range for Minnesota is $75,000 to $80,000 per year. Individual salaries are determined by factors including education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography.
Selection Process
- Applications open from August to November each year.
- Shortlisted candidates are contacted for an initial phone screen by the end of November.
- Selected candidates proceed to a virtual panel interview with HR and functional leaders.
- Offers are extended to successful candidates, with start dates in January or June based on graduation date.
- Placements are finalized in late October for January starts and mid-April for June starts.
Candidates collaborate with the Early Talent Team to complete a Brand Slide, which helps identify suitable rotations based on strengths, interests, and business needs.
