Engineering Development Program

About the role

The Engineering Development Program at Bayer focuses on setting up, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting manufacturing production. It involves operating machines or equipment, setting up and adjusting factors like temperature, pressure, flow, and material reactions. Responsibilities also include manually controlling units, running up and shutting down production facilities, cleaning and decontaminating equipment, driving forklifts, filling and taking over tank wagons, conducting routine analytics and taking samples, coordinating equipment maintenance and repairs, and documenting and communicating work results.

Responsibilities

• Gain experience across the site through multiple rotations to understand site operation and collaborate with unit technicians and leadership to provide high levels of customer satisfaction.
• Aid operations in evaluating and achieving unit performance goals related to safety, quality, waste minimization, capacity, reliability, operability, and cost, subject to supervisory review.
• Develop and implement projects of various scopes, interfacing with technical professionals from other disciplines.
• Track and monitor process/unit key performance indicators.
• Participate in investigations of unit performance issues related to safety, quality, environmental impact, capacity, reliability, and operability, leading to proposal and implementation of sound technical solutions.
• Maintain and develop unit operating documentation (e.g., standard operating procedures, process descriptions, material and energy balances, P&IDs, and operating data collection and retrieval).
• Engage in plant trials aimed at enhancing unit performance.
• Continuously develop self with peer coaching and constructive feedback.
• Support Site and Unit Production System improvements, OnePSS.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical preferred).
• Working knowledge of Engineering tools and software, and ability to read and understand process flow diagrams, line drawings, P&ID and schematics.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in internship or co-op work in a related industry.
• GPA of 3.0 or above at the time of graduation.

Benefits

Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $54,000 - $81,000 per year. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Other benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. If selected for this role, the offer may vary based on market data/ranges, an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
