Engagement Representative I
About the Role
The Engagement Representative I serves as the critical first point of contact for prospective Portage Learning contacts. This position handles phone, email, and web-based interaction with program advisors and higher education contacts who would benefit from utilizing Portage Learning's course offerings.
Responsibilities
- Identify and research potential customers through various sources such as databases, social media, and industry-specific directories.
- Engage with prospective customers to understand their needs and challenges, while introducing the company's products or services and qualifying leads through emails, phone calls, and direct mail pieces.
- Develop and maintain a pipeline of prospective customers and follow up regularly to convert leads into sales opportunities.
- Attending conferences as needed to engage with students and potential customers and represent Portage Learning.
- Stay updated about product knowledge to provide accurate information to potential customers.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of prospective customer interactions, sales activities, and lead status in HubSpot and other systems.
- Generate regular sales reports and dashboards incorporating key metrics such as call volume, email engagement, and conversion rates. Track performance against targets to identify areas for improvement and inform strategic decision-making.
- Provide feedback to management on market conditions, customer insight, and competitive activities to inform business strategies.
- Work closely with the PIE, Marketing, and Data teams to align sales strategies and share insights on customer needs and market trends.
- Participate in sales meetings, training sessions, and team-building activities to continuously improve sales skills and knowledge.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required:
- 0 - 3 years of experience related in sales or relationship management.
- Successful completion of a background check and current and/or ability to obtain the following clearances: Child Abuse, State Police, and FBI Fingerprinting.
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, or a related field.
- Ability to analyze data and generate reports.
- Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal, listening, and interpersonal communication, with the ability to build rapport and trust with customers.
- Proficiency in working with CRM systems (e.g. HubSpot, Monday) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Self-motivated, results-driven, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with attention to detail.
- Willingness to continuously learn and adapt to new sales techniques and market changes.
Pay
$58,650 - $79,050
Schedule
Full-time position. Portage Learning typically operates Mondays to Fridays, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Employee schedules may vary within those hours. All staff members must attend required meetings and training at the office in Chippewa Township, PA.
