About the role
The mission of the DoD Engagement Management team is to "Deliver with Excellence: PLAN, EXECUTE, CONTROL, BUDGET, STAFF, and COMMUNICATE with Excellence." We're seeking a highly skilled and versatile Senior Engagement Manager to lead the delivery of complex cloud solution projects that make a real difference for our Department of Defense customers.
Responsibilities
- Lead large-scale technical projects with national significance that directly influence customer outcomes and AWS service offerings
- Bridge business requirements with technical solutions while shaping service team roadmaps and partner offerings
- Maximize engagement value by negotiating conditions of acceptance within project constraints
- Define and enforce delivery quality standards and engagement security protocols
- Facilitate release planning, align outcomes, build executable roadmaps, and organize complex workstreams
- Redirect distressed programs to delight customers and accelerate progress by clearing blockers
- Effectively communicate across diverse internal audiences (product, legal, finance, operations)
- Interpret and critically evaluate documentation
- Communicate data-driven decisions judiciously to leadership and customers
- Identify and shape pre-sales opportunities
Qualifications
- 5+ years of leading the delivery of IT projects with external customers or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of program or engagement management work leading other project managers to deliver a program with multiple and concurrent projects experience
- 1+ years of working as a Scrum Master or Product Owner across multiple cross-functional teams experience
- 3+ years of cloud computing experience
- Experience in leading the delivery of IT projects with external customers or equivalent
Skills
- Combine technical expertise with strong project leadership to drive successful AWS-based solution implementations
- Apply AWS frameworks (Well-Architected, Cloud Adoption Framework) and multiple delivery methodologies (Agile, Scaled Agile, Waterfall, ITIL)
- Create and lead comprehensive project plans for teams spanning AWS, customer, and partner resources
- Lead multi-workstream engagements
- Articulate framework perspectives and phases
- Educate others on technical frameworks and approaches
- Establish new capabilities, tools, and delivery kits to promote efficiency and improve quality
- Create mechanisms for faster, better technical and business decisions
- Own root cause resolution of complex problems through Correction of Errors (COE) activities
- Contribute to organizational strategic planning and executive governance frameworks
- Simplify concurrent project delivery across team boundaries
- Mentor others and develop as a thought leader in your domain
- Perform Technical Promotion Assessments (TPAs)

Pay
Base salary range: $131,200.00 - $177,600.00 USD annually
