About the role

The Engagement Lead is the connective tissue between the Department of the Navy (DON) Core Connections Initiative and its diverse stakeholders. In this role, you will drive program adoption, ensure consistent participant experience, and amplify the impact of the initiative across the DON enterprise.

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute a multi-channel engagement strategy that builds awareness, enrollment, and sustained participation in the Core Connections program.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for regional coordinators, facilitators, and participants; troubleshoot issues and escalate systemic barriers.
  • Develop and maintain a participant feedback loop—surveys, focus groups, and analytics—to continuously refine program content and delivery.
  • Coordinate with DON communications teams to produce promotional materials, success stories, and leadership briefings.
  • Plan and host quarterly virtual “Engagement Summits” that showcase best practices, recognize top facilitators, and align stakeholders on program goals.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as enrollment rates, session completion, and participant satisfaction; report trends to initiative leadership.
  • Support facilitator onboarding and professional development through curated resources, peer-learning cohorts, and recognition programs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Organizational Development, Communications, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in program management, stakeholder engagement, or adult learning initiatives within large, distributed organizations.
  • Proven track record of designing and executing engagement campaigns that measurably increase participation and satisfaction.
  • Familiarity with Navy or Department of Defense culture and structures is a strong asset.

Skills

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication; ability to tailor messaging for senior leaders, mid-level managers, and front-line personnel.
  • Proficiency with CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce), survey tools (e.g., Qualtrics), and virtual-event platforms (e.g., Zoom, Adobe Connect).
  • Strong project-management skills; experience with Agile or Lean methodologies is a plus.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to influence without direct authority.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and rapid iteration in a fast-paced, evolving program environment.

Benefits

  • Federal employee benefits package including health, dental, vision, and retirement (FERS).
  • Flexible work arrangements: hybrid schedule with core in-office days in the National Capital Region.
  • Professional development stipend and access to DON leadership-development programs.
  • Opportunity to shape a high-visibility initiative that directly supports the DON’s talent-development and culture-change goals.
