About the role

Functions as a specialty tech, teaching aide and resource person in their specialty and other duties as assigned. Employee performs clinical duties in accordance with population specific guidelines and adheres to National Patient Safety Goals as outlined in policy and procedures. This position will care for patients from adolescent through geriatric age groups.

Responsibilities

  • Licensure or other certifications: Required
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience: One (1) year recent experience (within five years) in Endoscopy or Operating Room
  • Demonstrates effective time management by completing patient case assignments with appropriate turnover average
  • Prepares and assists with patients undergoing endoscopic procedures and with specimen collection
  • Assists the proceduralist with endoscopic procedures
  • Assists in the collection, preparation, verification and logging of specimens
  • Cleans room at completion of procedure (to include proper bedside cleaning of the endoscopes)
  • Cleans and disinfects endoscopes as needed according to manufacturer recommendations and facility standards
  • Maintains safe and aseptic environment
  • Monitors/troubleshoots endoscopic equipment to ensure appropriate functionality and escalates any issues
  • Ensures proper patient body alignment during the procedure by position monitoring checks e.g. feet, arms, etc.
  • Precepts new staff as assigned and demonstrates sound clinical & positive interpersonal skills
  • Adheres to infection control practices
  • Demonstrates knowledge of safety policies and procedures
  • Contributes to productivity of the department by demonstrating effective time management
  • Expedites safe, rapid turnover of procedures
  • Accurately reports supplies used to ensure proper charging
  • Reports all problems or necessary changes to the Circulating RN or Charge Nurse
  • Arranges own schedule to meet requirement of overtime, call changes and holiday coverage
  • Accepts call as assigned and is available within 30 minutes (or less)
  • Performs routine tasks
  • Assists with general daily clean up and stocking of procedure rooms

Pay

The salary range for this position is $XX.XX - $XXXX.XX per year, depending on experience and qualifications.

Schedule

This position is full-time and works an 8-hour morning-afternoon shift.
