Endoscopy Technician Full Time

Essential Functions

• Affords assistance with case preparation, retrieves necessary instruments and supplies.
• Might assist in maintaining accurate information on preference cards.
• Examines cases for procedural needs and guarantees the availability of correct diagnostic and therapeutic devices.
• Performs endoscopic procedures in compliance with departmental policies and procedures.
• Anticipates and prepares for changing needs during the procedure.
• Applies principles of aseptic technique and universal precautions throughout the procedure.
• Disposes of sharps and trash.
• Ensures that scopes and reusable devices are cleaned, disinfected, sterilized, and stored correctly.
• Ensures unused supplies are returned appropriately.
• Assists in the cleaning and stocking of procedure rooms and carts.
• Supports the operations of the department by assisting with clerical duties as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
• BLS certification.
• This position requires clinical knowledge normally associated with 1 - 2 years of previous experience in a health care setting.
• Must demonstrate effective organizational, communication and human relations skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification preferred.
• Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
