Essential Functions
- Affords assistance with case preparation, retrieves necessary instruments and supplies.
- Might assist with updating preference cards.
- Evaluates cases for procedural needs and guarantees the right diagnostic and therapeutic devices are accessible.
- Performs endoscopic procedures in compliance with departmental policies and procedures.
- Foresees and prepares for changing needs during the procedure.
- Applies principles of aseptic technique and universal precautions throughout the procedure.
- Disposes of sharps and trash.
- Ensures that scopes and reusable devices are cleaned, disinfected, sterilized, and stored correctly.
- Guarantees unused supplies are returned appropriately.
- Assists with the setup of appropriate equipment and positioning devices/patients in procedures rooms.
- Supports the cleaning and restocking of procedure rooms and carts.
- Assists with clerical duties as required.
Other Duties
Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, as well as applicable professional standards. Provides all customers with an excellent service experience by consistently demonstrating our core and leader behaviors each and every day.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
- BLS certification.
- This position requires clinical knowledge normally associated with 1 - 2 years of previous experience in a health care setting.
- Must demonstrate effective organizational, communication and human relations skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification preferred.
- Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
