RN Endoscopy Part-Time

Essential Functions

• Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care before, during, and after endoscopy procedures
• Administers and monitors conscious sedation and manages patient responses during procedures
• Affords assistance with endoscopic procedures including biopsies, polyp removal, and hemostasis
• Maintains surveillance of patient condition, vital signs, and cardiac rhythms, reporting changes promptly
• Provides pre- and post-procedure patient education and discharge instructions
• Documents all nursing assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately
• Maintains a safe and clean environment, adheres to infection control and safety protocols
• Handles specimens appropriately and ensures proper labeling and documentation
• Participates in performance improvement initiatives and staff education
• Responds effectively to emergencies and follows facility emergency protocols

• Strong critical thinking and clinical decision-making skills
• Proficient in IV therapy, sedation monitoring, and airway management
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
• Familiarity with endoscopic equipment, sterile technique, and procedural workflow
• Competency in electronic documentation and EMR systems
• Commitment to continuous professional development and team collaboration

Qualifications

• Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN), required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), preferred
• Licenses/Certifications: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice; Basic Life Support (BLS), required within time frame specified in facility policy; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), required within time frame specified in facility policy; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), preferred
