EMT-P - 24 Hour

About the role

The Advanced EMT is responsible for providing comprehensive patient care in out-of-hospital settings within NYS certification scope.

Responsibilities

• Ensure ambulance cleanliness, stock, and pre-run checks
• Assess response needs based on dispatch information and weather conditions
• Evaluate illness/injury severity and deliver appropriate emergency care per NYS protocols
• Assist with patient handling, treatment, and transport
• Request additional assistance or specialty services when needed
• Report and document patient assessments and care
• Secure patient information and follow physician orders during transfers
• Use proper radio procedures and monitor patients throughout contact
• Maintain ambulance readiness, integrate with other agencies, and adhere to policies and infection control
• Interact professionally with patients, families, staff, and crew
• Ensure ALS equipment and supplies are ready before and after runs

Requirements

• Preferably 1 year of experience
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• NYS EMT Intermediate, Critical Care, or Paramedic certification
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
• Valid NYS driver’s license
• EVOC certification preferred
• Competent in reading and writing
