About the Role

Medcor is hiring an EMT or Paramedic on a PRN (as-needed) basis to serve as an Onsite Health Technician in our employer-based occupational health clinic in Tyler, TX. The clinic operates on the following schedule:

  • Saturday, Sunday, Monday: 10:00 A.M. - 10:00 P.M.
  • Tuesday: 08:00 A.M. - 06:00 P.M. or 06:00 P.M. - 10:00 P.M.
  • Wednesday, Thursday, Friday: 08:00 A.M. - 06:00 P.M.

Since this is an as-needed position, there are no guaranteed hours. If you have availability to pick up occasional shifts, we encourage you to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in daily operations at Medcor’s on-site clinic.
  • Provide superior customer service to Medcor’s client and employees.
  • Assess and treat workplace injuries and illnesses according to Medcor’s Evidence-Based Medicine protocols (Medcor Care Protocols, MCPs).
  • Build and maintain internal team relationships.
  • Support onsite employee health and wellness efforts.
  • Conduct pre-employment and post-offer screenings.
  • Document care using state-of-the-art EMR and other tools.
  • Manage workers’ compensation cases and facilitate Return to Work (RTW) programs.
  • Monitor treatment plans and collaborate with outside medical providers.

Requirements

  • Valid licensure as an EMT or Paramedic in Texas.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification.
  • Strong computer and technology skills (EMR software, cell phones, fax machines, etc.).
  • Ability to lift a 50-pound emergency response bag.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Positive, outgoing personality with a passion for patient care.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a worksite clinic environment is a plus.
  • Relevant occupational health experience is preferred.
  • Background in emergency medicine or critical care is advantageous.

Skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to engage with patients and colleagues.
  • Attention to detail in medical charting and case management.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
