About the role
The Arrow EMT responds to emergency and non-emergency ambulance requests, providing patient care under the supervision of a paramedic.
Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to emergency and non-emergency calls
- Monitor ambulance readiness and maintain clear communication about crew and vehicle status
- Clean ambulances and equipment daily
- Provide guidance to EMTs during calls
- Transport patients, including wheelchair van services
- Perform routine cleaning and equipment checks
Requirements
- EMT License in Illinois (required upon hire)
- Driver’s License (required upon hire)
- NIMS 200, 700, 800 certifications (required within six months)
- Hazardous Materials Awareness certification (required within six months)
- Emergency Response to Terrorism certification (required within six months)
- Working knowledge of the EMS system
- Ability to work under supervision
- Prior testing into the EMS system or relevant experience
