About the Role
This program offers individuals a chance to earn while learning to become an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). The EMT plays a crucial role in providing basic emergency medical care and transportation for critical and emergent patients.
Responsibilities
- Provide basic emergency medical care and transportation for critical and emergent patients
- Perform interventions with the basic equipment typically found on an ambulance
- Function as part of a comprehensive EMS response under medical oversight
- Link from the scene to the emergency health care system
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years old
- Have proof of a high school diploma or GED
- Have a valid driver's license
- Have all required immunizations
- Successfully complete the pre-employment screening, including motor vehicle and criminal background checks, drug testing, and a physical agility test

Pay
The starting pay rate is $16.50/hr.
Schedule
The academy runs 10 weeks, starting mid-September 2026, and is a full-time schedule from Monday through Friday, from 9am to 6pm. The course will be taught in person.
Next Steps
After successful completion of the course, employees will be eligible to take a written and skills test offered by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and National Registry of EMTs. They will also qualify for benefits including an excellent benefit package, paid time off, opportunities for professional growth, and response to nationwide disasters. Employees will be assigned their full-time shift upon receipt of the state EMT certification.
