EMT 911 Dispatcher

As a Communications Specialist (EMT 911 Dispatcher) you answer emergency medical and fire calls for service and dispatch ambulances and fire resources to locations requesting help. As a call taker you process emergency medical and fire related calls using established protocols. You give callers instructions to begin patient care and how to safeguard themselves until help arrives on scene. The dispatcher position is responsible for sending the closest appropriate response resource to the scene. The dispatcher also communicates safety concerns involving patients and responders to determine whether or not additional precautions or equipment should be taken. We offer a full academy training to develop the skills and competence to successfully process calls and dispatch resources. All Communications Specialists must have completed or will need to complete an EMT course within 6 months of hire. REMSA Health has an onsite education facility where the EMT course would be completed. This is a full-time position that is eligible for benefits. Candidates must have open availability to work any shift that may include nights, days, weekends or holidays. Qualifications Proof of EMT course completion, or ability to complete EMT course upon hire (National Registry not required).Must be able to type 35 wpm and pass pre-employment CritiCall Exam and EMT Entrance exam (if no EMT course at time of application).Ability to be open for any shift that might include weekends, holidays or night shift.Must have excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to multi task and be attentive to detail in various forms.Current CPR card preferred but can be done upon hire.
