EMS Specialist-Highway Safety Team
Under the general supervision of the Shift Battalion Chief, this position provides proactive assistance and rapid, initial emergency response to a designated highway safety route and/or area. This role utilizes a dual operational model combining highway patrol services with immediate medical capabilities.
- Active patrolling of a designated high-risk corridor from within an ambulance or remaining in a designated staged area from 0600 to 1800 hours daily.
- Operates on a 48/96 schedule, with a mandatory shift change occurring every 48 hours at 1900 hours.
Qualifications
- Must be aware that this position requires active patrolling of a designated high-risk corridor from within an ambulance or remaining in a designated staged area from 0600 to 1800 hours daily.
- Requires a valid driver's license.
- Must be able to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
