About the Role

We are seeking an EMS Coordinator RN to join our healthcare family at Research Medical Center. The EMS Nurse Coordinator is responsible for providing a consistent, courteous, and timely care experience for patients transported by EMS to our facility. Responsibilities include greeting and receiving both the patient and EMS personnel in a dedicated area, collaborating with the Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) to plan for the arrival of inbound patients, and managing EMS surges to achieve timely offloads.

When not actively offloading EMS patients, the EMS Nurse Coordinator oversees the EMS lounge, maintains the stroke care area, assists clinical personnel in patient care, and performs other downtime duties. The role involves regular collaboration and communication with the EMS PPR Director on strategic initiatives and providing feedback to the EMS Growth Governance Council.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and receive patients and EMS personnel in a dedicated area.
  • Collaborate with the Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) to plan for inbound patient arrivals.
  • Manage EMS surges to ensure timely offloads.
  • Oversee the EMS lounge and maintain the stroke care area.
  • Assist clinical personnel in the care of patients during downtime.
  • Communicate and collaborate with the EMS PPR Director on strategic initiatives.
  • Provide ideas and feedback to the EMS Growth Governance Council.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid license.
  • Registered Nurse Diploma.

Qualifications

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) – must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention – must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) – must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses (ATCN) or Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) – must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
