Summary

The Employment Training Specialist supports individuals with disabilities to identify employment goals, build workplace skills, and succeed in competitive, integrated jobs. This community-based role includes hands-on coaching, employer collaboration, and timely documentation to meet program and funding requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Complete person-centered assessments to identify interests, strengths, and employment goals
• Build relationships with employers and community partners to identify and secure job opportunities
• Provide on-site and off-site job coaching to teach job tasks, promote independence, and support retention
• Develop and implement individualized employment and training plans aligned with person-centered planning

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required with one-year related experience in vocational services, supported employment, workforce development, or human services preferred
• Valid NYS Class D driver’s license
