Training Specialist/DSP
About the role
The Community Day Services (CDS) at St. Coletta's is seeking a Training Specialist/DSP to enhance adaptive living skills, economic self-sufficiency, and overall independence for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Responsibilities
- Implement methods of instruction consistent with current skills and performance curriculum
- Adapts work stations to meet the needs of the consumers
- Maintains a clean and safe work environment
- Prepares required documentation for agency caseworkers
- Provides crisis counseling and emergency interventions to consumers as needed
- Responsible for transporting clients in a Van
- Marks and records operating conditions of vehicle daily and reports mechanical problems to the Supervisor immediately
- Monitors and records client transportation and other information as required
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Able to demonstrate approved behavior management techniques
- DSP certification required
- CPR and First Aide Certification preferred, not required
- Valid driver’s license
- Passes a criminal background check and physical/drug test
- Passes a MVR background check
