Employment Litigation Attorney

Makovoz Law Group is seeking an experienced California litigation attorney to assist with a growing employment and business litigation practice on a remote, independent-contractor basis. The position has the potential to develop into a full-time role for the right candidate. Position Overview Contractor Pay: $75.00 - $125.00 per hour depending on experience. The attorney will assist with substantive litigation matters involving employment disputes, administrative proceedings, and business litigation. Matters May Include Claims Involving HarassmentDiscriminationRetaliationDue process violationsEmployment-related administrative proceedingsBusiness and commercial disputes Responsibilities May Include Case evaluation and client intakeLegal research and analysisDrafting pleadings, motions, briefs, and other court filingsPreparing and responding to written discoveryReviewing and analyzing evidence and case recordsPreparing for depositions, administrative hearings, and court proceedingsAssisting with hearing and trial preparationServing as second chair at hearings and trials when appropriate Qualifications Active member in good standing of the State Bar of CaliforniaMinimum 3 years of litigation experienceEmployment litigation and/or business litigation experience strongly preferredExcellent legal research, writing, and analytical skillsStrong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlinesAbility to work independently and communicate reliably in a remote environmentLocated in or near the Los Angeles area and available for occasional in-person appearances when necessary Preferred Experience Experience handling healthcare-related disputes or matters is helpful but not required.
