About the role

Acting as a neutral party, you will engage with HR Partners (HR Business Partners, Navigators, etc.), leaders, and team members to interpret policies, employment law, legal and regulatory issues, and to evaluate concerns, conduct and document investigations. You will consult and influence at multiple levels within the organization to drive a high-performance culture built upon trust and transparency. This role supports leaders and HR Partners in advising on performance management matters and serves as a team member advocate to support union avoidance strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts investigations in situations requiring interviews and/or complex analysis, often engaging organizational partners (e.g., Risk Management, Privacy, Legal, Security) to mitigate organizational risk. Cases may include Physician/Provider issues, Drug Diversion, Harassment, HIPAA violations, Patient and Team Member allegations of assault, and other sensitive matters.
  • Acts as an escalation point for intermediate-level cases needing deeper analysis and consultation.
  • Tracks, monitors, and reports on investigations, root causes, outcomes, and organizational impact.
  • Designs and deploys systematic processes, education, and high-visibility projects to advance employee relations and organizational priorities.
  • Evaluates metrics and data to develop viable, sustainable recommendations.
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships at all levels, providing exceptional customer service and timely follow-through to promote employee morale and productivity.
  • Manages legal cases, including employment litigation, administrative charges (NLRB, MDCR, EEOC), and attorney demands. Acts as a resource on employment law and legal issues, documenting, analyzing, and recommending solutions.
  • Performs investigations at the direction of legal counsel, working confidentially under attorney-client privilege and work product protection.
  • Occasionally completes research and special projects related to employee relations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.
  • 5 years of relevant experience in leadership or HR generalist/case management.

Schedule

  • Full-time, Monday to Friday.
  • 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • 40 hours per week.
