Emerging Companies + Venture Capital Associate Attorney (Mid-Level)
About the role
The Emerging Companies + Venture Capital practice at Morrison Foerster is seeking an attorney with 4-6 years of significant experience in emerging companies and venture capital work. This role involves working with high-growth startups and leading investors, providing strategic, end-to-end counsel from formation through exit, and managing internal and external client and counsel relationships.
Responsibilities
- Participate in and lead complex transactions, including seed and venture capital financings and public offerings.
- Work with domestic M&A transactions, particularly for startup companies and investors.
- Concisely and effectively communicate complex matters in both oral and written forms.
- Provide excellent client service and demonstrate entrepreneurial, innovative, and forward-thinking qualities.
- Take on increased levels of responsibility for transactions and demonstrate a strong work ethic and team player attitude.
Requirements
- Admitted to the state bar in which you are practicing or eligible to waive in.
- Experience with start-ups and emerging growth companies, including seed and venture capital financings and public offerings.
- Experience with venture financings using NVCA documents.
- Experience with domestic M&A transactions, particularly for startup companies and investors.
- Proactive, with a strong business sense and the ability to manage internal and external client and counsel relationships.
- Interest or affinity for technology, life sciences, and/or consumer packaged goods (CPG) businesses.

- Admitted to the state bar in which you are practicing or eligible to waive in.

Pay
Salary ranges are stated below and may vary based on factors including but not limited to the following: market data and ranges; an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience (including class year); and certain degrees, licensing, and certifications.

- Denver, CO: $310,000 to $390,000
- Los Angeles, CA: $310,000 to $390,000
- New York, NY: $310,000 to $390,000
- Palo Alto, CA: $310,000 to $390,000

- San Francisco, CA: $310,000 to $390,000
