About the role
The Emergency Veterinarian - Ethos ER Immerse Mentorship Program at Virginia Veterinary Centers – Short Pump is a 6-month training and mentorship program aimed at preparing veterinarians for a sustainable and satisfying career in emergency medicine. The program includes rotations through several specialty services and focuses on building essential clinical knowledge, skills, and professional competencies.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with a team of ER veterinarians and specialists in various fields.
- Receive training in surgical services if desired.
- Work under the guidance of a dedicated mentor on each shift.
- Participate in a competency-based curriculum including asynchronous learning and live virtual didactic rounds.
- Attend regular live continuing education events led by specialists and experienced emergency doctors.
Requirements
- Passing the AVMA accredited Veterinarian Licensure Examination (VLEX).
- Completion of a recognized DVM program.
- At least 1 year of experience in emergency medicine or a related field.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
