About the role
Virginia Veterinary Centers - Fredericksburg is seeking veterinarians passionate about working in emergency medicine for a 6-month training and mentorship program. We are looking for individuals who are team oriented, driven, reflective, and reliable to train with us and transition into an ER position with our team.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with onsite Criticalist and Surgeon, as well as multiple specialists located just an hour away in Richmond.
- Contribute to a multidisciplinary approach to patient care, ensuring the best possible outcomes for our patients.
- Rotate with specialty services during the training program.
- Work with a dedicated mentor on shifts.
- No on-call.
- Follow a competency-based curriculum that includes asynchronous learning on Vetbloom and weekly live virtual didactic rounds.
- Attend regular live continuing education events led by specialists and experienced emergency doctors.
Requirements
- Flexible base salary with 23% production, no negative accrual (after mentorship period).
- Paid licensure, PLI, and professional dues.
- No ER non-compete.
Qualifications
- Passionate about emergency medicine.
- Team-oriented, driven, reflective, and reliable.
- Experience in emergency medicine preferred, but not required.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Strong communication skills.
