About the role

Clarksville Veterinary Emergency & Specialty (CVES) is a trusted emergency and specialty hospital serving Clarksville and surrounding communities. We offer a collaborative, team-focused environment where doctors can practice excellent medicine, continue to grow clinically, and build meaningful relationships with colleagues. Our ER doctors have direct access to a collaborative team of Emergency, Internal Medicine, and Surgery clinicians onsite, with additional specialty support through our sister hospital in Nashville.

Schedule

Full Time or Part Time, rotating schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality emergency and critical care to a diverse caseload of companion animals
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for patients presenting with urgent and emergent conditions
  • Triage incoming patients, receive new emergency cases, and manage hospitalized patients throughout their course of treatment
  • Perform emergency procedures and stabilize critically ill or injured patients using evidence-based medicine
  • Collaborate closely with Emergency, Internal Medicine, Surgery, technicians, and support teams to provide exceptional patient care
  • Communicate clearly and compassionately with pet owners during stressful and emotional situations
  • Participate in mentorship, continuing education, and ongoing clinical development

Requirements

  • DVM or equivalent veterinary degree with eligibility for state veterinary licensure
  • Completion of a rotating internship or experience practicing emergency medicine is preferred
  • Confidence managing emergency cases and making sound clinical decisions in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills and a compassionate, client-centered approach
  • A collaborative mindset and commitment to exceptional patient care
  • A passion for continuous learning, teamwork, and advancing emergency veterinary medicine
