About the role
Capital District Veterinary Referral Hospital, located in Latham, New York, is looking to add a full-time Emergency Veterinarian to our well-established team. We are looking for a talented, energetic, personable individual with strong communication and interpersonal skills, who will be a contributing member of our highly collaborative veterinary team.

The Capital District area includes Albany, Saratoga Springs, Troy, and Schenectady and offers a wide range of living options from small cities and college towns to resort areas and bedroom communities. The region features recent tech-driven economic growth alongside established tourism, farming, and state government sectors. Outdoor activities include hiking, kayaking, skiing, and camping in the Adirondacks and Lake George, while Saratoga Springs offers horse racing, farms, and scenic lakes. Troy and Albany provide city amenities with vibrant nightlife, culture, and small-business growth. The area also offers award-winning schools and family-friendly neighborhoods.
Our Hospital
- 9 exam rooms and a bereavement room
- Newly renovated four-surgery suite enclosed surgery annex
- 40-cage ICU
- 6-table treatment area and an isolation suite
- Diagnostic imaging including digital radiography, an 8-slice CT, and ultrasound
- 24/7 emergency care plus specialties in critical care, surgery, radiology, and dermatology
Why Us?
The base salary for this role is $130–160K annually, commensurate with experience, with additional earning potential through a competitive production program. Emergency Veterinarians can earn up to or over $200,000 annually.
