Emergency Veterinarian
Jackson Pet Emergency Clinic is seeking a dedicated Emergency Veterinarian to join our bustling after-hours pet emergency clinic in Jackson, Tennessee.
About the role
As an integral part of our team, you will provide urgent medical care to a wide variety of animal patients during evenings and weekends. Our clinic is well-equipped with cutting-edge technologies such as Idexx laboratory and reference lab services, ultrasound, and digital radiology to ensure the highest standard of diagnosis and treatment.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for emergency medicine, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. You will work collaboratively with our experienced staff to deliver compassionate care to pets in critical conditions, handling diverse cases ranging from trauma and toxicities to severe illnesses, and performing life-saving procedures when necessary.
Responsibilities
- Provide urgent medical care to animal patients during evenings and weekends
- Diagnose and treat emergency cases, including trauma, toxicities, and severe illnesses
- Perform life-saving procedures as necessary
- Collaborate with experienced staff to deliver high-quality, compassionate care
- Communicate effectively with pet owners in critical situations
Requirements
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree or equivalent
- Licensed to practice veterinary medicine in Tennessee
- Experience in emergency medicine or at least one year of general practice
- Strong communication and decision-making skills
- Ability to work evenings and alternating weekends
