About the role
The Emergency Services Manager at Ottumwa Regional Health Center is a vital position within the organization. This role requires a combination of management and clinical skills, with responsibilities including adjusting schedules, coordinating quality improvement activities, and managing the ORMICS run report system.
Responsibilities
- Maintain RN licensure/Paramedic certification
- Coordinate QI activities on the unit
- Assist in the review, development, and implementation of policies, procedures, and standards
- Monitor and assure consistent application of policies, procedures, and standards
- Function as a crew member and maintain adequate department staffing as per service agreement with the State of Iowa EMS Bureau
- Act as the Service Director for ORMICS and service representative for ORHC as part of the Wapello County Healthcare Coalition
- Participate in the Emergency Management Council and other committees as directed by the EMS Director
- Manage and maintain ORMICS run report system program and perform QA on run audits
- Demonstrate ability in the care and handling of patients in all age groups
- Knowledge of all procedures per DOT curriculum and respective Iowa Scope of practice for each level of EMS provider
- Demonstrate adequate BLS and ALS skills and assessments
- Drive in appropriate manner, ensuring safety for all parties involved
- Operate 911 phone system, voice recorder, radios, and other phones in dispatch area
- Function in the Incident Command role on field emergencies or mass casualty events
- Read ORMICS map book and use GPS in ambulances
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in related field or applicable work experience
- One to two years previous management experience (preferred)
- Three years clinical experience in specialty area(s)
- Current valid Class C (noncommercial) Iowa Driver's License and current valid Iowa Paramedic Certification, or RN License with the ability to obtain RN-exempt status
- Current BCLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications

Pay
$10,000 sign-on bonus available to well-qualified applicants
