Responsibilities
- Deliver safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice in the Telemetry and Emergency Department.
- Direct and guide patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of professional nursing care.
- Communicate with physicians about changes in patient clinical condition, including diagnostic study results and symptomatology.
- Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition and/or response to treatment.
- Adhere to EMTALA regulations and report child/adult abuse to appropriate agencies and Hospital Social Worker.
- Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
Requirements
- Current and valid state RN License.
- Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
- Current ACLS certificate within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
- Current PALS certificate and/or ENPC within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
- Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
- Minimum of one year of experience as a staff nurse RN in an acute care hospital setting; E.R. setting preferred.
- Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Facility-Specific Requirements
- In Paramedic Base Station ED: MICN certification within 12 months of hire and maintain current.
- EDAP certified facilities: Completion of emergency pediatric course 1 and 2 within 6 months of hire.
- Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) within 12 months of hire required.
Schedule
Part-time (less than 60 hours per pay period), night shift.
