About the role
The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) / Paramedic will lead, direct, and participate in the delivery of Basic Life Support (BLS) and work in partnership with Advanced Life Support (ALS) teams in a pre-hospital setting.
Ideal candidates will remain calm under pressure, exercise good judgment, make sound decisions during emergencies, communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing, multi-task effectively, and demonstrate proficient keyboard entry skills. Bilingual applicants are highly desirable.
Responsibilities
- Respond to 9-1-1 EMS calls in a pre-hospital setting.
- Deliver Basic Life Support (BLS) and collaborate with Advanced Life Support (ALS) teams.
- Operate under pressure while maintaining clear communication and decision-making.
Requirements
- Current Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification issued by the New Jersey Department of Health, or a higher-level certification such as Mobile Intensive Care Paramedic or Mobile Intensive Care Registered Nurse Certification.
- Current Healthcare Provider CPR Certification.
- Paramedics must possess current ACLS and PALS certifications.
- Valid New Jersey driver’s license.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- New Jersey residency.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, including holidays and weekends.
- Successful completion of all hiring process steps, including:
- Eligibility verification (application, resume, certification/document submission).
- Mandatory program orientation and hiring process overview.
- Morris County OEM/EMS Realistic Job Preview.
- Interview process.
- Written examination, physical assessment, and EMS-BLS multiple-station scenario-based practical examination.
- Criminal history background check with satisfactory results.
